Our Plan for Ganpatipule

We made our plan during the month of May, which is generally a hot summer in most parts of India based on feedback from some of our friends to experience the interesting travel destination for rural life, Hindu temples, the Sea, and nature. Ganpatipule is also a good place to stay if you’re traveling to the Vidarbha region. In this article, we’ll give you a detailed travel plan for Ganpatipule.

Reaching Ganpatipule

Ganpatipule is about 330 KM from Pune & about 350 KM from Mumbai. We started from Pune by Car. The journey from Pune to Ganpatipule was a scenic one. The route winds its way through rolling hills and dense forests, with glimpses of the Arabian Sea visible on clear days. The journey can take anywhere from two to four hours, and did encounter several stunning places to stop along the way for a picnic.

Our Stay at Ganpatipule

We had booked our stay in Ganpatipule for 2 days, Maharashtra in Abhishek Beach Resort & got the best deal by comparing multiple offerings through Wego. It’s also a great place to go if you’re looking for a bit of nature, as Ganpatipule is a forest reserve just a short drive away & the beach is surrounded by Mountains. You may want to take some time exploring the ropeway & various water sports depending on availability from time to time.

Bhandarpule Beach

Bhandarpule Beach is an idyllic stretch of sand on the Arabian Sea coast, about an hour south of Mumbai. Ganpatipule, about an hour north of Mumbai, is a rocky beach with crystal-clear waters. Visiting the place is a must in my opinion, which could be a unique experience.

Jai Vinayak Temple

The Jai Vinayak Temple is a beautiful temple in Ganpatipule, Maharashtra, situated 13km from Ganpatipule & 3km from Jaigad Fort, near Kachare Village. Constructed by the jsw Group, this temple is a popular tourist destination in the city. The architecture of the temple is stunning and the views are simply amazing. If you’re visiting Ganpatipule, then don’t miss to check out the Jai Vinayak Temple!

Timings: Daily 5:30am – 12:30 pm, 5:00pm – 9:50pm.

Jaigad Fort

Jaigad Fort, Ganpatipule, Maharashtra is a beautiful fort located about 3 kilometers from Jai Vinayak Temple. The fort was built in the 18th century by the Marathas and is considered one of the most beautifully designed forts in India, however, the fort badly needs some effort of restoration, we would request the administration to maintain the site properly, which is a one of the major Maratha pride. Be sure to check out the place. The view from the fort is great!!

Tibri Bandar

Tibri Bandar, Ganpatipule, Maharashtra is a beautiful place to visit. It’s full of natural beauty and has a lot to offer visitors. It was mainly built as a small port, which is used for Fishermen these days for shelling fishing boats. However, i must say, like all other places in Ganpatipule this place feels home too.

Thiba Palace

Thiba Palace, Ganpatipule, Maharashtra is a beautiful palace. The palace was built in the 17th century by the Maratha king Shivaji and is considered to be one of the most beautiful palaces in India. This is one of the most visited places by tourists.

Timings: Daily 10.00 am- 5:00 pm except for Monday

Final Thoughts

Ganpatipule is beautiful & we thoroughly enjoyed the two-day vacation and wish we could expand our stay in this place for a few more days, unfortunately, we need to end our trip on the Morning of the third day. This is a  secluded hill station, the views are breathtaking, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. It’s the perfect getaway for nature lovers who want to escape the noise and crowds of metropolitan areas.
